Strength Training
I work in Falmouth, Cornwall, from my little strength studio, and online.
I offer Strength Training, using a Trauma Informed approach, to support my wonderful clients to reach their goals. Goals are various and exciting, from mastering a push up, rehabilitating from a knee injury, training with a Pelvic Organ Prolapse, feeling confident around strength equipment, learning how to use a kettlebell, feeling stronger and more capable for meeting the demands of daily life, strength for running. The list is endless and full of possibilities.
I specialise in making strength training accessible to all, and have certifications in a range of areas including Pelvic Floor Health, pre and post-natal, trauma informed provision and more. My priority is to remove any barriers to health and well being that can be caused by harmful Fitness and Diet Culture messaging (rooted in systems that oppress and marginalise many). Sessions are programmed and planned in advance for each individual, but adapted to meet the moment, so my clients can listen to their amazing bodies and honour what is healthy and needed. This may be a lighter session after a poor nights sleep, a cup of tea and a talk to start after stressful morning drop off, heavier load to move some nervous system activation out of the body, dynamic moves to process an emotion. Sometimes just the act of walking through the studio door is the biggest accomplishment. Numbers and measurements are not used to reflect a client’s worth. My clients are supported to build strength, confidence and connection to their bodies, by listening to the signals, knowing when to push, and when not to. To trust themselves, and be in charge of what they do.
I am not the Trainer for you if you do not believe Black Lives Matter, are not committed to being Anti-Racist, are not listening to those who have experienced Racism, are anti LGBTQIA+ rights and equality and not dedicated to identifying and unlearning any Ableist, Misogynist or Fatphobic biases you may have. I understand that we may all be continuing to recognise and remove our innate predjudices, but I will not work hard for, and support, individuals who will not hold themselves accountable.

There is no one size fits all. Everyone has their own individual goals, history and circumstances. My role is to programme sessions that support you to feel positive, safe and stronger.
